A New Chapter

I found your letter half-alive
The words were hollow, but they survived
My hands shook ink across the page
Each line a scar, each breath a cage
I didn't scream, I didn't speak
Just let the silence flood and leak

Your careful lies, your soft retreat
I rewrote all your make-believe

I crossed out your promises line by line
Each phrase a wound I claimed as mine
The ink ran wild, spilled every lie
No room for edits, no more disguise
You wrote the start, but I hold the end
I break the silence... with a new chapter

You said: "maybe I was scared to stay"
Your cowardice on full display
So I redrew your perfect scene
With fire where the love had been
My hand pressed hard, the colors bled
No voice of yours inside my head

You left in whispers, fading slow
I marked the truth you'd never show

I crossed out your promises line by line
No more pretending your words were mine
I let it go without goodbye
No need to ask, no need to try
You wrote the start, but I hold the end
I break the silence... with a new chapter

No stamp, no name, no heart to show
Just ash and ink that had to flow
You left a mess you never owned
But I won't end this all alone

I burned what was left, no tears, no blame
The ink is dry, I won't speak your name
No second draft, no lines to mend
No final word for you to send
This page is mine, no shame, no fear
I walk away... to a new chapter
