I'm Not Ok

♫ Hard Rock + 8 more versions

♪
Sitting on the edge of my bed
Scrolling through words I never said
I type "I'm fine" then hit delete
Too scared to say I feel defeat
I smile so no one has to ask
But wearing strength is just a mask

The world moves fast, I stand alone
A silent scream beneath the tone

I'm not ok, but it's all gonna be alright
I break in pieces, mostly at night
I hold my breath, I fake the light
But I'm still here, I still fight
I'm not ok, and that's alright

I've carried weight I never chose
Wrote my story in shadows no one knows
There's no applause for staying strong
No medals for just holding on
But here I sit, and here I breathe
Tired and torn, but still I bleed

I won't pretend it's all okay
But healing comes when night meets day

I'm not ok, but it's all gonna be alright
I break in pieces, mostly at night
I hold my breath, I fake the light
But I'm still here, I still fight
I'm not ok, and that's alright

I won't yell, I won't explain
But I won't drown inside this pain
Tonight, I whisper just one truth
Not strong, not brave, just getting through

I'm not ok, but maybe soon
The night will fade, reveal the moon
A fragile hope begins to rise
A quiet dawn inside my eyes
I'm not ok, but I still fight
Waiting for a brand new light
