Pull Me Under

♫ Gothic + 5 more versions

♪
The tide is rising in my chest
I wear the weight like a second skin
I'm chasing peace I can't possess
And drowning in what might have been

I reach for light, but shadows cling
I'm tired of fighting everything

Pull me under, let me feel
The quiet I've denied is real
I've been screaming through the flood
Now I'm sinking just because
Pull me under, let me break
Wash away what I can't fake
I don't want to run or breathe
Just let the dark take hold of me

The surface lies, it's all pretend
Smiles and masks that never bend
I've worn them all until I cracked
Now there's no way to turn back

And every truth I tried to save
Is buried in a tidal wave

Pull me under, let me fall
I'm not afraid to lose it all
Let the silence crush my name
I'm tired of playing in this game
Pull me under, let me sleep
Where secrets aren't mine to keep
In the deep, there's no more pain
Only echoes in the rain

If this is how I disappear
Then let me go, don't hold me near
No lifeline left, no hands to find
Just the cold pull of peace of mind

Pull me under, I won't fight
Let me fade into the night
No more masks, no need to lie
I lived, I broke, I learned to cry
Pull me under, I am free
In the dark, I finally see
Sometimes letting go is grace
Even drowning has its place
