Tear Down the Silence

This is the letter I never could send
Searching for meaning where colors all blend
We built up our towers on uncertain ground
Now every word spoken just tears them down

You're holding your silence, I'm losing my voice
Caught in the static, we drown out the noise
I reach for your hand, but you're out of sight
We're lost in the shadows between black and white

Tear down the silence, let the truth ignite
No more hiding feelings in the dead of night
If we're gonna break, let's break through the pain
Say what we're scared of, let it all rain

I lie awake counting the cracks in the night
Tired of pretending that we're both alright
We're chasing the signals that fade in the dark
Missing the meaning, missing the mark

You whisper your doubts, I swallow my pride
Both of us hurting, but trying to hide
If we could be honest, just for tonight
Maybe we'd find what we lost in the fight

Tear down the silence, let the truth ignite
No more hiding feelings in the dead of night
If we're gonna break, let's break through the pain
Say what we're scared of, let it all rain

Are we just falling, or can we still try?
If you show your heart, I'll show you mine
Let's tear down these walls, let the silence speak
Find what's been buried so deep underneath

Tear down the silence, let morning begin
No more hiding pieces of what we've been in
We weathered the storm, now nothing's the same
Standing together, washed clean by the rain
