We Are Just a Ghost

The bed is made but no one sleeps
Curtains breathe but there's no breeze
Your lipstick on a half-drunk glass
Still waiting like the past
The mirror cracked from corner light
Reflects us only out of sight
Two shadows dancing on the floor
But we don't live here anymore

I hear your voice in every wall
But we're not here, we never were at all

We are just a ghost
In a room that time forgot
Echoes wearing perfume
In a silence we both brought
Not alive, not quite gone
Just a whisper held too long
We are just a ghost
Fading where we don't belong

Your coat still hangs behind the door
Like you'll return, like you want more
But love doesn't check in again
When it's already reached the end
The clock still ticks, but won't move on
It's stuck on when we both were wrong
A photo half-faced in the frame
Too blurry now to blame

I say your name, it doesn't stay
Just slips right through the hallway gray

We are just a ghost
In a room that time forgot
Echoes wearing perfume
In a silence we both brought
Not alive, not quite gone
Just a whisper held too long
We are just a ghost
Fading where we don't belong

No haunting, no goodbye
Just furniture and why
No footsteps down the stairs
Just the way we left our stares

We are just a ghost
No one sees us passing through
This place remembers more of us
Than even we still do
Not a scream, not a flame
Just a quiet, whispered name
We are just a ghost
And nothing feels the same
